The Enchanted Evening: Wild Boy’s Ball, Kensington Palace

Wild Boy's Ball Kensington Palace

Quite what Prince and Princess Michael of Kent will have to say when they’re trying to have some me-time in front of Paul O’Grady whilst outside all hullabaloo is kicking off on their front lawn – hell, maybe they’ll join in! That Princess Pushy sure likes a good time! – but suffice it to say the usually sedate gardens of Kensington Palace will be alight with good ol’ times of, erm, old this Friday night, August 19th, thanks to The Wild Boy’s Ball 2011. Inspired by the original good time fella-me-lad of Georgian times, Peter the Wild Boy (for those who didn’t catch the dumbed-down biopic on The One Show the other day, he was George 1’s play thing after being found feral in 18th century Germany and subequently shipped to Swinging London where he became a celebrity, The Only Way is Essex-style), you can expect a bone fide masked ball, food and drink in The Orangery, oddities in The Gaiety Engine, plus 300 years of scandal and intrigue courtesy of the Official Palace Gossip. We already don’t know where to look!
Tickets are available from here (numbers are limited, so quick-smart) and if they choose to move the apostrophe on Boy’s a little to the right, so be it.
