The Album: Randy Crawford

Best of Randy Crawford

Having met the lovely lady yesterday (that smile still burns your retinas, even if she is knocking 60 these days, and she gives hugs freely and without prejudice), we thought we would recommend – HIGHLY recommend! – a new Best Of album from soul legend and general all-round beautiful person Randy Crawford. All the hits from ‘Street Life’ through ‘You Might Need Somebody’ and ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ to ‘Rainy Night in Georgia’  and ‘Almaz’ plus some tracks you might not be aware of: a live version of John Lennon’s usually unbearable ‘Imagine’ and a brand new track from the pen of La Crawford herself called ‘Worn But Not Tattered’ (and can we get an ‘Amen’ on that one?) Great songs, flawless vocals, a little jazz, a little soul, a whole lot of personality and there you have it. Released on Rhino records.
