Men in stretchy leotard things, wet and running. That’s it. That’s the big sell for the London Triathlon – or the 2011 Dextro Energy Trathlon ITU World Championship event, to give it its grown-up name – which happens in Hyde Park this Saturday and Sunday. They’ll be swimming across the Serpentine, running and cycling (that’s three, isn’t it?) and this time next year you will obviously be paying through the nose to see the self same thing just with some Olympic branding all over it and no doubt a few McDonalds logos for good measure. The event you want to make your way to, in our humble opinion, is the Elite Men’s Race, which will be televised live by the BBC should you wish to make a sign, which starts at 1pm on the Sunday at the Serpentine Pontoon. Bring your own beer.
