The Gay Workshop: Velvet Rage

The Velvet Rage

Anyone who has read Alan Downs’s Velvet Rage, the self-help-type book for gay men, will probably have become obsessed by it and will be talking about it all the time. Some even in their sleep. Well, now you can let your innocent friends off the hook by going and discussing the issues raised – our need for attention, our desire to be fancier than thou, our relationships with our fathers, our biological dependence on nice things – at a specially convened Velvet Rage workshop. It’s all going down at Bar Code in Vauxhall (so, handy for acting out after the talk), it starts at 7pm on Wednesday 20th July, runs for two and a half hours and there are six sessions in the series. For this you will pay the not entirely unreasonable fee of £100. Find out more from course leader Darren by emailing darren@darrenbrady.com.
