The Exhibition: BP Portrait Award 2011

R.H. by Isobel Peachey

We’re not biased or anything, but our favourites in this year’s BP Portrait Award are R.H. by Isobel Peachey (pictured), Layla Lyon’s oil of Boy George, and The Evil Murdering Misguided Queen Cassandra, by Louise Pragnell (just for the alliteration alone). And if you don’t agree, feel free to choose three others. Now we’ve got that out of the way, can we just point out that just because you’ve sponsored the world’s most prestigious portrait competition, doesn’t mean you have to initial it too. How big is your ego? And now we’ve got that out of the way, can we just say the BP (we fear being sued or something) Portrait Award (winners, losers, the lot) is on from 16th June until 18th September, at the National Portrait Gallery by London’s grand ol’ Trafalgar Square. Take notes. Otherwise people won’t think you’re pretentious at all!
