If you’re quick-smart and stop making Kabbalah bracelets out of dusty old bits of rope for just one second (who we kidding. No-one does that anymore!), then you may be able to squeeze yourself tightly into a screening of Beginners, Ewan McGregor’s new film followed by a Q&A with the man himself (Ewan. You can never be sure who’s quite following) as well as the film’s director, Mike Mills, at Curzon Soho this Monday, 11th at 6.30pm. In the film, Ewan plays Oliver, the son of Hal (Christopher Plummer) who, after his wife has died, reveals he is gay. At the time, Oliver is embarking on a new relationship with Anna (Melanie Laurent). So far, so dinkum. Only problem is, Oliver has always used his parents’ relationship as a template for his own love goings-on. Screws with your mind, eh! Anyway, we know you’ll love it-love it-love it, and if you’re really lucky, Ewan will drop trou’ and take a bow. What?
