Love her or not, you’ve got to admit Tracey Emin, enfante terrible of the art world, is a bit of a laugh. And how is it that it has taken this long for the naughty girl of Bed and Tent fame to get her first major exhibition in a grown-up gallery? Well, if there’s one thing that this new show at The Hayward Gallery, starting 17th May, proves it’s that she’s no one-trick pony. With work in neon, textiles, photography, sculpture, installation… all that’s missing is something pretty in pastels or pasta, but we’re sure she’s on it as we speak. It’s a three-and-a-bit month gig but we’re sure you’ll need to look sharp with those tickets.
