The Concerts: Rufus Wainwright

Rufus Wainwright has the ability to turn grown gay men to pudding, which is why there will be a lot of wobbling around the Royal Opera House this July when the Rufus Wainwright wagon rolls into town with House of Rufus: 5 nights of velvet, glamour and guilt.
First there is Rufus Does Judy – a version of his infamous Live at Carnegie Hall show, where he recreated Judy Garland’s legendary concert – with the Britten Sinfonia. That will be drawing a largely gay crowd on 18th, 21st and 22nd July. And for those who just can’t get enough there’s An Evening with Rufus and Martha Wainwright and Band on 19th July and a concert version of his opera Prima Donna (plus Rufus Does Rufus) on 23rd.
It’s a whole lot of Rufus going on and if you need tickets, which veer from £25 to £100, then you should get to it here or call 020 7304 4000.
